The Kindred Communications Management Scholarship is established by Kiersten Kindred of Houston, Texas. Kiersten Kindred Clayton was raised by a loving single mother, godmother, and grandmother in Houston, TX. Kiersten graduated Magna Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Kiersten’s natural passion for linking people to their lifelong goals led her to become a certified life and career coach and Founder/CEO of Kindred Communications, a boutique recruiting firm with a focus on retention and onboarding.
She has penned self-help journals and books including the popular career book, “Five Steps to Landing Your Dream Career: A College and Post-College Guide.” Kiersten received scholarships during her time at SHSU and it encouraged her to keep going, make an impact, and strive for the best in life. It was important for her to award the Kindred Communications Management Scholarship to a current SHSU student, who comes from a single parent home, because she wants to empower them to make an impact on the world.
We’re thrilled to introduce our program, “Hire One, Help One” Program that embodies our commitment to making a positive impact in the world. Partnering with the esteemed nonprofit organization, “RaiseUp Families” we’ve launched an initiative that goes beyond filling job vacancies. With every placement made through this program, we’ve decided to provide financial assistance to parents of school-age children while helping them attain higher income jobs and teaching invaluable budgeting skills. These efforts through RaiseUp Families leads parents to become self-sufficient and prepared for potential future financial challenges.

The Kindred Career Compass (TKCC) is a nonprofit subsidiary of Kindred Communications, dedicated to empowering job seekers and career changers through personalized support. Rooted in faith-based values of compassion, service, and purpose, TKCC provides resume reviews, interview preparation, career coaching, and personalized guidance to help participants achieve meaningful and purpose-driven careers.
